DBxtra is a Business Intelligence Report software which is easy and quick to implement.
It does not require dedicated IT infrastructure resources like dedicated Report Servers.

DBxtra offers various components (modules) which allow quick but powerful report design and distribution.

DBxtra Report Server

The core module of DBxtra is the DBxtra Report server, which contains and controls both the Report Repository (the file which holds all report, security and configuration definitions) and the Report Web Service used by the end-user to access reports from any Web browser.

Note! When you run DBxtra for the first time (in trial mode) then it will automatically install the Report Server on your localhost (e.g.: http://localhost:8080/DBxtra.NET) hosted by an internal DBxtra Server.

You can place – move – the Report Server at any other location like your Internet Server using either the DBxtra internal Web Server or the Internet Information Server.

Note! The DBxtra Web Server is recommended for testing and demo purposes while the Internet Information Services is recommended for production purposes.

Design and Deploy Reports

The DBxtra Designer interfaces – with the Report Server and its Report Repository and lets you build your Queries and design a host of different report formats like Data GridsPivot GridsReports (including ChartsDashboards (designing and deploying Dashboards requires the Dashboard add-on).

Once a Report Object was designed you can save it and define immediately which user groups will have privileges to be able to view it.
No extra step is required for Report deployment.

Note! The Designer also defines the Report Server settings and User Security besides various configuration utilities.

The Schedule Server

The DBxtra Schedule Server offers Report schedule capabilities with many options, including recurring schedule jobs based on specific time intervals.

Your reports can be scheduled for delivery by e-mail to your business contacts and company staff. Plus, you can export reports to a specific location or uploaded to an FTP server; all in the most common output formats like PDF, Excel, text and Word.

End-users have several choices to consume report information

End-users only require a Web browser to be able to log in the Report Web Service interface with their credentials and have immediate access to Report Objects (Data Grids, Pivot Grids, Reports and Dashboards) assigned to the User Group they belong to.

Using the Web Report Widget, you can easily embed any DBxtra Report Object into any Web page.

You can also automatically deliver Reports to end-users by e-mail and FTP through the Schedule Server service.

The XL Reporting Service allows to embed Report Objects data as real-time live connected data sheets or pivot tables in Excel. It also enables to open any Report and Dashboard inside Excel.

Finally, you can also run Reports with the secure Desktop Report Viewer.
