How to configure DBxtra to use Internet Information Services on Windows Server 2012 This guide is intended to configure DBxtra to use Internet Information Services 8 that comes with Windows Server 2012, this same guide can serve as a guide for those configuring DBxtra to use Internet Information Services 7 and 7.5 that come with Windows Server 2008 and 2008 R2 respectively, however, for those versions, there may be some additional errors, just look for them in the knowledge base or if you don’t find them there, send an email to our support team explaining the error (Screenshots are really helpful). It’s recommended that you perform up to step 9 before installing DBxtra.

DBxtra 7.1.0 on Internet Information Server – IIS 7

Under Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 or newer, updating DBxtra to version 7.1.0 or newer could cause this problem:

To solve it you need to do as follows:

1.- Open the Control Panel.

2.- Open the Administrative Tools folder.

3.- Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

4.- Under Connections, select the root node, the name of the server, and under the IIS section look for the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions item.

5.- Open it, and look for the ASP.NET v4.0 elements, there are two of them, select each one and in the Actions panel, the one at the right, click Allow.

6.- The selected item must appear as Allowed in the Restriction column.
