How Can We Help?

Move Report Server to a new location

You are here:

To move your Report Server from one computer – Server – to another, you need to do as follows:

  • In your current DBxtra installation, locate the Report Repository file.
  • Backup the current repository.
  • Copy the DBxtraDB.sdf file, for better results we recommend you to close all DBxtra programs.
  • Locate the setup package of your current version, if you don’t have it, you can continue with the setup package of the latest version of DBxtra, but you must be sure you have a valid Maintenance Plan.
  • Install DBxtra on the new computer.
  • Start the DBxtra Designer.
    • This will create a default Report Server and Repository file.
  • Copy the backup of the Repository file to the new computer. You can either replace the default repository file or put it in a different empty folder.
  • If you want to use Internet Information Services instead of the DBxtra Web Server, then configure it as described here.

Note: The Report Repository file can’t be in a Network Share, as this is not supported by the Web servers.
